Software Tool Evaluation Factor 9: Vendor Trust
This is the second soft evaluation criteria.
People buy from people they trust.
What makes you believe, that you can trust the the people selling you their tool?
Building trust takes time. It´s very rarely that you will trust the seller after one meeting. Trust is build by every interaction, so you need to find out as much as possible about the vendor.
What do you need to consider, whether you can take the people serious?
- Do the make commitments or do they speak very vague?
- Do they have a clear agenda and keep the meetings not longer than necessary?
- Do they follow up your questions?
- Do they respond to tasks outside the scope?
You should at least research the company, there are many great pages on the internet which will help you.
Other questions you should consider for this criteria
- How long does the vendor exist?
- How many employees have the vendor?
- Is this vendor well known in the industry you´re in?
- Can you talk to any reference customers in your industry?
